About

“I am approachable and believe in openness, transparency, accountability and good governance.  If re-elected to the Dogs Victoria Management Committee I will continue to be contactable to all members and clubs, and will always remember that I am there to serve our community.”

I grew up in Mount Martha on the Mornington Peninsula and live in Melbourne having previously lived in rural Victoria.

I have an extensive career in business and management that spans three decades.  In the 1990s I worked in Hospitality Management with the highlight being the role of General Manager of the London Astoria in London’s West End (the largest nightclub/live venue in London).  When I returned to Australia I successfully worked in Real Estate, climbing to the role of Group Sales Manager.

In 2004 I was appointed Chief Operating Officer for the then largest Aviation Safety & Compliance Consultancy group in the Asia Pacific region and the Southern Hemisphere.  It was a challenging and demanding role, but it has been rewarding growing the company from a fledgling business to a successful group with a turnover in excess of $20m with more than 200 personnel globally and with offices in Japan and Ireland.  Turning the business around by embracing our strengths, improving our marketing, engaging with industry to provide quality services that the market want, simplifying our services and cutting costs while improving efficiencies and investing in our future is something I am very proud of. Importantly, despite being a global aviation company I was able to successfully ensure the continuing viability of the company during the challenges of COVID-19, including retaining the jobs of all my personnel and taking a pivotal position of introducing new process and procedure for Aviation Safety during the dark days of Covid-19.

My introduction to dogs was via my parents’ beautiful Corgi named Tammy.  I have always had pure breed dogs in my life, including a Labrador, French Bulldog and several Pekingese.

My partner and I started showing Pekingese just over five years ago although he has owned and showed pure-bred dogs for almost 20 years overseas including Westminster.  We have attended Westminster, Crufts where my partner handled a Pekingese, World Dog Show and other dog shows in Europe and the USA as well as numerous shows around Australia. Our first Australian-bred Pekingese achieved his Supreme Championship title at just over 2 years old. We are now showing our third generation Pekingese.  I enjoy engaging with people at Dog Shows as well as love having a home with dogs that are a part of our family.

I am friendly, approachable and believe in openness, transparency, accountability and good governance.  If elected to the Dogs Victoria Management Committee I will continue to be contactable to all members and clubs, and will always remember that I am there to serve our community.
